By default the settings are pretty bad - the FFB is a little washed out, and the handling is terrible at default high degrees of rotation.

I'm using a Thrustmaster TX/T300, but this should be conceptually helpful to other wheel players trying to fix the default settings. I played around with the settings for quite awhile before settling on these.

Since some of it is a matter of taste I'll explain my opinions - if you disagree I'd be interested in any reasoning behind changing these settings (or other unlisted settings). Wheel Software (Handling): • Adjust degrees of rotation to 540 (900+ degrees makes correcting oversteer too slow so you spin out too much, 540 gives you good control for fast steering corrections, and besides 540 is realistic for GT and Rally cars anyway) Wheel Software (Feel): • Personally I left the wheel's gain settings at default. I think the in-game settings are enough to dial in wheel feel. I run a thrustmaster tx as well and these settings are HORRIBLE.

The only reason not to use 900 degrees of rotation is if you have no idea how to drive a car. No better feeling than nailing drifts with full opposite lock. I run no deadzones, vibration scale 50, force feedback scale 70, centering spring 15, damper 50 and sensitivity 50. The centerspring at 50 is AWFUL I cant imagine 70. Real cars and other racing games the wheel should not snap back to the middle like it does in forza.

I have a few top 100 times with these settings. No deadzones With 900 DOR and 50 Sensitivity inputs are subtle enough you don't need or want any deadzone. Vibration scale 50, force feedback scale 70, centering spring 15, damper 50 These are mostly a matter of taste, except arguably centering spring, which you need, but the magnitude is still taste. The only reason not to use 900 degrees of rotation is if you have no idea how to drive a car. I really don't have a problem with somebody disagreeing with me, but try not to spread misinformation. The stock road cars probably have 900+ DOR IRL, but once you're running dirt races or upgrading to the S classes, this is just naive.: Larger and heavier vehicles will often have a higher steering ratio, which will make the steering wheel easier to turn. In normal and lighter cars, the wheels are easier to turn, so the steering ratio doesn't have to be as high.

In race cars the ratio is typically very low, because the vehicle must respond to steering input much faster than in normal cars. The steering wheel is therefore harder to turn.
